Martin Audio has released Display 3, the latest generation of its 3D audio prediction and optimisation software, following an extended beta programme.
The software is designed to speed up system design and optimisation workflows, with Martin Audio claiming substantially faster processing than previous versions while maintaining prediction accuracy to within ±1dB of measured real-world performance.
For Wavefront Precision line arrays, Display 3 combines mechanical angle optimisation with DSP filtering to configure arrays against user-defined SPL and frequency response targets. The faster processing is intended to make it easier for engineers to repeatedly redesign and re-optimise systems when comparing different approaches to a venue.
The release also introduces changes to voicing consistency across the Wavefront Precision range, alongside improved handling of natural sound rejection behind and below arrays.
Martin Audio's Hard Avoid feature can extend this rejection by up to 30dB or be applied to other areas of a venue where sound needs to be reduced, including rear walls, sensitive boundaries or other defined zones.

A new "Don't Care" designation allows users to mark areas of a venue model where SPL and coverage targets should not apply. Display 3 then excludes these areas from the DSP optimisation process and focuses calculations on the remaining zones.
Users can also create and store multiple optimisation snapshots within a single model, allowing different system configurations to be retained for changing audience layouts or environmental conditions.
Display 3 continues to support system prediction across Martin Audio's wider loudspeaker portfolio and integrates with SketchUp for venue modelling. System configurations created in the software can be uploaded directly to iKON amplifiers through Vu-Net.

The accompanying Vu-Net 2.3.5 release adds tools aimed at system verification before an event. LED Mode illuminates Wavefront Precision cabinet LEDs either sequentially or individually to check the physical order of an array, while Mute Mode steps through individual cabinets to verify signal routing.
Engineers can also create diagnostic files directly from networked iKON amplifiers, capturing stored data including fault and protection counters, system configuration and performance history.
Dom Harter, managing director at Martin Audio, said: “The voicing gains in Display 3, alongside the speed improvements and the enhanced optimisation tools, will keep Wavefront Precision at the front of the line array market for years to come, across both live sound and permanent installation, and the Vu-Net release gives users smooth, reliable control of those systems.”
Display 3 is available now as a free download for Mac and PC.
