Uniguest has launched Hub OS, enabling customers with compatible Onelan and MediaStar media players to migrate to its Hub AV platform without carrying out an immediate estate-wide hardware replacement.
The software release allows supported Onelan NTB and MediaStar hardware to operate with Hub AV for the first time, providing a migration route for organisations with significant existing player deployments.
Hub AV, formerly known as Tripleplay, combines digital signage, IPTV and enterprise video within a single platform and can be deployed on-premises, in the cloud or as a hybrid system.
By retaining compatible existing hardware, customers can move onto the newer software platform while extending the life of installed players. Uniguest said this is particularly relevant for larger estates where replacing all endpoints simultaneously could represent a substantial investment.
Migration to Hub AV also provides access to functionality including IPTV and enterprise video, event-driven content, an expanded integration library, Power BI integration, Interactive Multiview, digital menu boards and meeting room device support.

“Hub OS provides that flexibility. Where hardware is compatible, customers can retain their existing players while moving to Hub AV and accessing the wider capabilities of the Uniguest platform. We’ll work with customers and partners to assess their estate and create a migration plan that works for them.”
Hub AV is designed for centrally managing and distributing media across applications including corporate, education, retail, banking, government, sports and large venues.
Not all existing Onelan and MediaStar hardware will necessarily support the migration. Uniguest is advising customers to work with their account manager or integration partner to assess installed devices, establish compatibility and develop a migration plan.
