Virtalis has gained access to a new development platform after joining Dassault Systémes Software Partner Community.
The partner programme will allow virtual reality integrator, Virtalis access to CAA V5, which is the acronym for Component Application Architecture Version 5, an open development platform that enables developers to integrate their Virtual Reality (VR) solutions with Dassault Systèmes' V5 PLM portfolio.
David Nahon, head of Immersive Virtuality Technologies at Dassault, explained the company was committed to making VR accessible to customers. “With Virtalis joining our Software Partner Community, we will move closer to our vision of making immersive VR the ultimate lifelike experience. Initially, Virtalis will be working on developing VR drivers for V5.”
Dassault Systèmes' CAA V5 Software Community Program permits independent software vendors to develop, sell and support CAA V5-based applications fully integrated with the Dassault Systèmes PLM solution and CATIA, SIMULIA, ENOVIA, DELMIA and 3DVIA product lines.
David Cockburn-Price, Virtalis MD, said: “Dassault Systèmes’ vision is to enable everyone to create, share and experience in 3D. This is very close to our own, which is that VR’s significant benefits will be the key to optimising all working practices, so I think this will prove to be a significant advance for the VR community.”
