The world’s first museum boat, Artexplorer, is now equipped with a leading audiovisual system, using a Modulo Kinetic media server system to power the experience.
A unique catamaran that travels the seas to make art and culture accessible to a wide audience, this unique boat includes an immersive Leyard LED tunnel powered by a Modulo Kinetic media server.
The installation was provided by AV integrator, Arscénique, and IT provider, Akumendo, creating a custom Leyard LED structure, made up of two walls measure 16x3. The installation is supported by two 2x2 LED walls positioned at the entrance and the exit of the tunnel.
To power the 50 million pixels of the LED tunnel, Modulo Pi’s Modulo Kinetic media server was used, consisting of a Modulo Kinetic Designer workstation, and three Modulo Kinetic V-Node servers equipped with four 4K outputs and four TB of storage.
The servers play a 12 minute show in 60 FPS, designed specifically for the LED tunnel, as well as a documentary shown on the boat’s aft desk.
The Modulo Kinetic also drives eight Genelec multi-channel speakers which are distributed throughout the immersive room.
