Control room videowall manufacturer eyevis UK has won a contract to supply 24/7 monitoring technology for wind farms for the whole of the UK.
The installation will aid the monitoring of hundreds of onshore wind turbines across the north of Scotland and work is due to start in the next couple of months.
The control room systems will also involve an integrated mobile phone camera application, which allows engineers out on site to transmit data and photographs direct to the videowalls.
The project, for one of the major providers of green energy for major UK utilities and independent power providers, coincides with the country’s move towards a low carbon economy and a reduction in the reliance on fossil fuels.
eyevis UK will be supplying videowalls comprising of eyevis 55-in industrial LCDs with eyevis Netpix 4900 videowall controllers, complete with Eyecon control software including an alarm management module.
eyevis UK managing director Steve Murphy said, "Videowalls which provide an efficient and easy to maintain service 24/7 play an integral part in ensuring the green energy supplied by wind turbines is a reliable source of alternative energy and we are delighted to be a part of this project."
