Sound system central to ballroom refurb

When the Grand Hyatt New York renovated its Empire Ballroom it turned to Tannoy and Lab.gruppen for a flexible, high-fidelity sound solution. The resulting system incorporated Qflex digitally steerable arrays and CMS in-ceiling loudspeakers powered by C Series amplifiers.

Sound fit for a palace

Bond Communications has replaced and retro-fitted a new sound system for the ballroom at the seven star Emirates Palace Hotel. The system, based on Martin Audio’s OmniLine scalable micro-line array and a W8LC Compact Line Array had to serve the ballroom space as a complete unit, or in its three separate, divisible modes.

Mission control

A collaboration between architects ABTB and the Arch Group, system integrators Optima and key suppliers has resulted in a control and monitoring facility truly of the future. The Moscow Electricity Centre was delivered as a turnkey solution and opened in January 2009, reports Chris Fitzsimmons.

Furman powers up Oakley tour

Furman’s PL-PRO DMC E power management/light module is being used by Oakley, to protect sensitive A/V equipment in the company’s “Rolling O Labs” in Europe. Part of Oakley’s High Definition Optics demo tour, the “Rolling O Labs” are self-contained, 40-foot trailers taken by Oakley to sporting events to provide public demonstrations of their product development and test procedures.

Pixels bring synchronicity to Eden Project

Exploring the impact that humans have on the global environment is a key theme of the Eden Project, the world famous ‘global garden’ located in a former china clay pit in Cornwall, England. Fittingly, that theme was also the centrepiece of Beth Derbyshire’s multimedia presentation Anthem, performed at Eden this autumn, with BrightSign HD1010 media players.
