First announced back in October, Google has revealed its 4K interactive whiteboard product, called Jamboard, will go on sale in the US in May. Google Jamboard is equipped with a 55-in 4K touchscreen and comes with an HD camera, WiFi and speakers.

The Google Jamboard will launch in May with a price tag of $4,999 (€4,647), lower than one of its main rivals, the Microsoft Surface Hub, which retails for $8,999 (€8,365).

The display of Jamboard features 120Hz touch scan rate/60Hz video refresh rate, NFC, 16 simultaneous points of touch, and handwriting and shape recognition.

It offers built-in speakers and microphones, outputs include HDMI 2.0, USB Type C, 2 X USB 3.0.  It also features Chromecast support so users can beam content from nearby devices to the Jamboard.

A series of collaboration tools for smartphones and tablets that sync up with the Jamboard are expected, which will help draw remote team members into a session.

The Jamboard comes with a rolling stand so can be moved from room to room.
