Magewell Electronics has expanded its range of 4K video capture cards with the release of the Pro Capture HDMI 4K and Pro Capture HDMI 4K plus.
Magewell’s series of real-time, 4K video capture cards are suited to applications including applications including broadcast, surveillance, medical imaging and video wall design.
The cards have both HDMI and SDI inputs with embedded audio support, with the Pro Capture HDMI 4K supporting 2160p30 over an HDMI 1.4 interface, and the Pro Capture HDMI 4K plus capturing 2160p60 via HDMI 2.0 connectivity.
All three capture cards feature a PCIe 2.0 high-speed interface and support resolutions up to 4096x2160 4K digital cinema and production standard, including 3840x2160 4K UHD. Each video source can be output as multiple streams to separate applications simultaneously for live broadcast, recording and preview. Operators are able to control resolution, frame rate and video processing independently for each stream.
The cards have built-in, hardware-based, 10-bit video processing for deinterlacing, up/down conversion, video enhancements, colour space conversion, graphic overlay and more without requiring CPU usage. The cards also feature advanced bit depth (8/10/12-bit) and colour space (4:2:0/4:2:2/4:4:4) capabilities, supporting 4K UHD standards.
The series can be used simultaneously in the same system and have 4K capture compatibility with a variety of encoding, streaming, live production, collaboration, video conferencing and VR creation software running on Windows and Linux operating systems, with Mac support for the 4K cards to follow.
Magewell will showcase its range of capture cards at IBC 2016 at stand 5.C79. This year’s event takes place from September 9 to 13, 2016 at the RAI in Amsterdam.
