Dubai, UAE

Dubai welcomed 2025 with an extravagant fireworks and drone show, as the Burj Khalifa was illuminated, and the skies filled with a fleet of drones creating patterns and shapes in the sky.

The Khaleej Times reported that more than 10,000 drones were deployed across the UAE, including more than 6,000 drones lit up the sky for more than 20 minutes, with more than 3,000 drones creating large images for the first time.

In Abu Dhabi, the city aimed to break several world records, and created a drone ‘photo’ of UAE founding father Sheikh Zayed.

London, UK

Over in London, revellers watching the London celebrations at home were treated to a world-first use of ‘hologauze’ projection screen animations to celebrate the new year, as Paddington Bear appeared in the centre of one of London’s most famous landmarks, London Eye.
