Genelec to debut Smart IP loudspeakers at ISE 2020

Genelec will unveil its 4420 and 4430 Smart IP loudspeakers at ISE, featuring onboard Smart IP technology to provide scalable power, audio and loudspeaker configuration, supervision and calibration features via a CAT cable.

The 4430 will be shown alongside the smaller 4420, with both models being Dante compatible and including open IP standards such as AES67 and ST2110-30, deriving power via PoE and PoE+ formats.

The 4420 features a frequency response of 55 Hz – 39 kHz (-6Db) via a four-in woofer and ¾-in metal dome tweeter, producing a maximum SPL of 100 dB via onboard 50W Class D amplifiers for each driver.

The 4430 measures 285mm in height, delivering 45 Hz to 39 kHz (-6 dB) via a five-in woofer and 3/4-in tweeter, producing a max SPL of 104 dB via onboard 50 W Class D stages.

Both models include a rear panel CAT connector, allowing access to the Genelec Smart IP Manager software tool designed for installers to use during set-ups and configuration, allowing users to configure a scalable number of rooms, zones, loudspeakers and audio channels, including device discovery, a room equalisation tool set, system organisation and status monitoring.

Audio streaming directly into each loudspeaker is supported via Smart IP, with loudspeaker synchronisation to sub-microsecond level for acoustic imaging.

Streams can be managed by both Dante Controller and Dante Domain Manager software as well as legacy balanced line analogue audio, allowing for both IP control of an analogue source or use of analogue audio as a failsafe back-up.

Both loudspeakers are made from recycled aluminium and are available in black, white or 120 custom RAL colours, being compatible with Genelec’s range of mounting accessories to allow both models to be floor, ceiling wall or truss mounted.

ISE 2020 will run from 11-14 February 2020 at the RAI Amsterdam, Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
