Audio-Technica unveils ATSP-30 network ceiling speaker

Audio-Technica has announced its ATSP-30 ceiling speaker, designed for small-to-medium-sized meeting rooms.

The ATSP-30 speakers are supplied as a pair, one active, one passive, connecting via standard speaker cable. The speakers can be mounted flush in drop or hard ceilings via mounting hardware, with the 256.1mm speakers offering a 140 degrees coverage angle.

The speakers are designed for microphone amplification and for playing background music and audio from video sources.

In installation cases where more than one pair of speakers is deployed, discreet audio signages can be sent to each pair for zone-based sound reinforcement and background music playback.

Audio Technica’s AT-Link protocol is included for transmission of uncompressed multi-channel digital audio, featuring the ATDM-0604a and ATDM-1012 digital SmartMixers, wireless and ceiling microphones and PC, tied together by Cat5e or other cable.

The speakers are compatible with AFMG’s EASE software for 3D sound modelling of the installation space, with its own speaker layout tool to estimate sound pressure levels for a proposed speaker setup, as well as Audio-Technica’s Link Simulator app which calculates how many power devices are required in a configuration of Link devices.

Once installed, the speakers offer adjustment for onboard DSP settings, including four-band EQ, sound profile presets, delay, power restriction, phase shift, and connection status, which can be adjusted via the ADTM mixer’s web remote and smart mixer manager.
