Marquee AV customises Bose Professional system for Soho sushi bar Miokuru
Marquee AV has installed a customised Bose Professional audio system at Miokuru, a 20-seat sushi restaurant in Soho, London.

The system was designed to support the venue’s transition from daytime dining to a more energetic evening environment while integrating with the restaurant’s interior design.

Marquee AV specified a Bose Professional FreeSpace 3 system comprising compact satellite loudspeakers and FreeSpace 3 bass modules, powered by a PowerSpace P4300+ amplifier.

The FreeSpace 3 satellites were custom finished in Miokuru’s signature orange to complement the restaurant’s visual identity. Two of the bass modules were also custom coloured, while a further two were concealed within seating.

According to Marquee AV, careful loudspeaker positioning was used to provide consistent coverage throughout the compact venue without compromising the interior.

“At Miokuru, the audio feels effortless,” said JJ Barnett, UK and Ireland business development manager at Bose Professional. “The system delivers energy and clarity throughout the space, while the custom-finished speakers become a subtle part of the restaurant’s character.”

The audio system was also specified to accommodate the changing requirements of the venue throughout the day, delivering lower-level background sound during lunch service before providing greater energy and low-frequency impact during evening trading.

Miokuru is the first restaurant from founder Eliott Grabli and combines British produce with Japanese temaki. The venue is located on Warwick Street in Soho.

Grabli said the project involved close collaboration with Marquee AV throughout the design and installation process.

“It was an absolute pleasure working with the entire Marquee AV team on this project,” he said. “Their clear planning, great problem solving as well as exceptional after-sales service makes them a great partner.”

The installation forms part of Miokuru’s wider design-led approach, with the audio system intended to function as both an AV element and a visible part of the interior aesthetic.
