The Telemundo Center in Miami has installed JBL Professional Across install, broadcast and live spaces, and the kit was heavily utilised for the 2025 Billboard Latin Women in Music Awards.
From the glass-walled atrium to the broadcast control rooms, post-production suites, and live event spaces, NBCUniversal’s Spanish-language division has built an expansive audio environment around JBL Professional’s end-to-end loudspeaker ecosystem. That integration begins in the building’s most acoustically challenging space: the atrium. A visually striking but highly reflective all-glass venue used for premieres, town halls, and client events, the atrium required a system that could deliver clarity without overwhelming the space.
Acoutech was the audio contractor for the installation.
In the atrium, JBL CBT1000 column loudspeakers provide precise vertical control for left, right, and center main coverage. Rear imaging for 5.1 playback is supported by JBL CBT70 column speakers placed on tripod stands. JBL VRX918S subwoofers supplement the low end for full-range performance, while JBL SLP14/T loudspeakers are used as a discreet distributed speech reinforcement system.
Across the facility’s various mix, edit, and broadcast control rooms, JBL 3 Series and JBL 7 Series studio monitors are used for critical listening, editorial review, and final audio delivery. In the on-site remote music truck, formerly owned by Acoutech and now operated by Tru Pixel Production, JBL 705P monitors are deployed to handle dedicated music mixes independent from the main production feed.
That ecosystem was on full display during one of the year’s most high-profile events: the 2025 Billboard Latin Women in Music Awards, broadcast live from the Telemundo Center and honoring icons like Celia Cruz, Anitta, and Selena Gomez, who was recognized as Woman of the Year.
For the awards show, the main live event space, that is typically used as a sound stage, was transformed into a full theatrical venue. JBL SRX906LA line array loudspeakers were flown to preserve visual sightlines for cameras and producers, while SRX918S subwoofers delivered deep, punchy low end to the audience without compromising clarity. Foldback monitoring for artists on stage was provided using JBL VRX932LA-1 loudspeakers, and the entire setup was powered by Crown amplifiers.
