Samsung Cinema LED roll out continues with first installation in Europe
Samsung’s Cinema LED screen will be seen in Europe for the first time when it is in installed at the Arena Cinema Sihlcity in Zurich, Switzerland.

InAVate has closely watched the roll out of the technology; from its first unveiling during CinemaCon in Las Vegs, to its first installation at Lotte World Tower in Seoul, Korea. The screen was also installed in October at the Paragon Cineplex Theatre in Bangkok, Thailand.

The Samsung Cinema LED screen measures 10.24 x 5.4 metres and offers 4K resolution with HDR. It uses approximately 8.8 million LEDs and is coupled with an audio system developed by Harman Professional Solutions and Samsung Audio Lab.

Samsung is working with Arena Cinemas and Imaculix to build Europe’s first Cinema LED screen at the Arena Cinema Sihlcity.

Edi Stöckli, owner of the Arena Cinemas, said: “Based on elimination of the projector beam and the high luminosity of Samsung Cinema LED screen, there are a host of new possibilities for interior design, and we are entirely removing the existing furnishings, and implementing an innovative seating concept to provide audiences with a totally new kind of cinematic experience.”

Samsung says 2018 will see it continue to roll out the screen in cinemas around the world including installations planned for the USA.
