Matrox Video brings IP and software-defined media workflows to IBC 2026
Matrox Video will show a range of IP-based and software-defined technologies for broadcast, live production and enterprise AV workflows at IBC 2026.

On booth 7.B15, the company will demonstrate technologies spanning remote production, contribution, monitoring, signal conversion, media transport and IP KVM, alongside its Matrox Origin software-defined media framework.

The portfolio includes Monarch Edge for low-latency REMI and contribution encoding and decoding, as well as ConvertIP, which provides real-time bridging between SDI, HDMI, HDBaseT, SMPTE ST 2110 and IPMX environments.

Matrox will also show its Maevex MGX AV-over-IP encoders and decoders and Vion IP gateway platform, which supports encoding, decoding, transcoding and protocol conversion.

Avio 2 will demonstrate how IP KVM can be incorporated into broadcast IP environments using IPMX, SMPTE ST 2110 and NMOS. According to Matrox, the approach allows KVM workflows to interoperate with existing IP production infrastructure and be centrally managed without requiring a separate proprietary network.

The company will also highlight Matrox Origin, its asynchronous media framework for software-defined production.

Origin supports the Media eXchange Layer, or MXL, and is designed to enable broadcasters, OEMs and developers to build interoperable Distributed Media Fabric workflows. The architecture separates media processing from dedicated hardware, allowing production resources and applications to be deployed and scaled more flexibly.

Matrox says the approach is intended to simplify media exchange between applications while making it easier for users to introduce new technologies and adapt infrastructure as production requirements change.

“Throughout our 50-year history, Matrox Video has helped customers embrace new technologies without compromising the reliability and performance their operations depend on,” said Alberto Cieri, senior vice president of sales and marketing at Matrox Video.

“Today, we're continuing that journey with interoperable technologies built on open standards like ST 2110 and IPMX that enable modern IP-based production.”

He added that Matrox Origin’s MXL-compatible fabric enables organisations to implement Distributed Media Fabric workflows using software-defined production infrastructure.

IBC 2026 takes place from September 11-14 at the RAI Amsterdam.
