Sony will exit its joint LCD venture with Samsung after announcing it would sell its 50% share for £600 million.

Samsung will become the sole owner of the S-LCD corporation as Sony restructures its struggling TV business.

The joint venture was established in 2004 and it is believed that Sony will source panels from Samsung and will not establish its own production facility.
