Extron enhances Utah University with 200-room overhaul
Extron AV technology has improved over 200 educational spaces at Utah Tech University, outfitting the 49,600 sq. m. science, engineering, and technology (SET) building with Extron AV switching, distribution, control, and audio amplification equipment.

The overhaul was delivered in 35 classrooms, labs, lecture halls and conference rooms, as well as the retrofitting of 175 existing rooms across 31 buildings.

The system is handled remotely, with the AV systems centred around a DTP CrossPoint matrix switcher with built-in audio amplifier and control processor.

Users operate the systems by tapping selections into a TouchLink Pro touchpanel, enabling multiple devices to supply AV content through wired connections and wirelessly via ShareLink Pro presentation systems.

The standard classroom design was replicated and scaled up or down as needed in the campus-wide retrofit, delivering a NAV Pro AVoIP system in the SET building’s two anatomy labs. This allows 16 dissection stations to share video so that all users can view a procedure at any station without crowding around a single station.

Conference rooms in the SET building employ DTP switching and ShareLink Pro wireless sharing, with HC 402 meeting collaboration systems facilitating idea sharing in the SET’s eight private study rooms.
