Manchester Basketball men’s and women’s squads will be the first professional teams in the world to put Glow Court, an interactive, LED sports court, to the test.
Developed by Conductr, the weatherproof court transforms the traditional sports surface into an immersive, interactive arena. Teams play on a fully interactive LED floor and adjacent LED wall, with real-time media reacting instantly to every movement. The court responds to players through native interactivity, with no need for wearables, headsets or handheld devices.
“We’re excited to bring our men's and women's teams to experience the Glow Court,” said Peter Simmons, CMO of Manchester Basketball. “Conductr is at the forefront of technology and we love that they are combining that technology with sports. Our values for innovation and progression align well with Conductr. It’s also a great way for us to start our Playoff campaign ‘Rep The City’. We’re excited to bring Playoff basketball back to Manchester for just the second time in 15 years for the men’s franchise.”

While basketball is the first sport to be trialled on the court in Manchester, Glow Court was created with adaptability in mind and is built to handle multiple applications including community workouts, fitness games, schools or other team sports.
“Glow Court is the world’s first active entertainment platform of its kind,” said Peter Cliff, CEO and Co-Founder of Conductr. “It’s not just a sports court; it’s a fully interactive space that transforms in seconds, switching between games, fitness challenges and real-time content with the tap of a button.”
Jos van der Steen, COO and co-founder of Conductr. “Having Manchester Basketball test it first is exactly how we wanted this to begin. Glow Court is a major step forward in how interactive technology is integrated into high-traffic indoor and outdoor environments. Developing a system that is durable, seamless and intuitive means rethinking everything from software engineering to hardware resilience, and we’re just getting started.”
Glow Court was trialled on April 28 at Conductr’s Manchester studio by both the men’s and women’s teams of the Manchester Basketball.
