Organisers of PLASA Focus Glasgow have promised a 50% increase in exhibitors on its inaugural 2014 event when the show returns to Scotland on January 20 -21, 2016.
The growth of the regional lighting and sound event, held at the SECC, is partly driven by a healthy local market for live events in Scotland, according to director of events Christopher Toulmin.
Bose is the most recent big pro AV signing to the exhibition that will also stage two days of free seminars and product demonstrations.
The event comes at a time when Scotland is trying to bolster its position as an events destination. A recent announcement from national tourism organisation, VisitScotland, revealed investment in a ten-year “collaborative strategy” to develop Scotland’s 3.5 billion events industry. The strategy – The Perfect Stage – describes how Scotland can enhance its reputation nationally and internationally.
Toulmin said: “We’ve seen a surge of interest in the region, reinforcing the need to bring the Focus series to Scotland. With large investment in the live events sector as well as tax incentives for business owners to transfer ownership to employees, PLASA members and exhibitors support for the show highlights the increase in business opportunities.”
