New organisation for digital signage industry launches
A number of display industry professionals have joined forces to launch an organisation to promote the use of digital signage and industry best practice in Europe.

The Digital Signage Organisation (DSO) will be headquartered in London headed up by its president Simon Jackson, VP of strategic and vertical sales EMEA, NEC Display Solutions. Jackson, previously president of Digital Signage Federation Europe (DSF-E), will be joined on the board by vice chairs Leif Liljebrunn, president and CEO of ZetaDisplay; Harry Horn, GM EMEA and VP marketing global of Scala; and Owen Ellis chairman of the AV User Group. Dirk Huelsermann, managing partner of Stratacaache Capital, will join as chairman. Additional board members will be announced at ISE.

Jackson said: “With our new organisation we have the ability to better serve the needs of the European Digital Signage community. We have a strong board with representation across vendors, integration and end users as we intend to cover all areas of the industry.”

Anyone can attend the next DSO meeting that will take place at ISE in Amsterdam, 4.00pm on February 7 in Room F002.

At the meeting potential new members will be able to hear in more detail the plans for the future of DSO including membership benefits and planned events.

Jackson added: “I’m excited to announce the start of a new journey for DSO and share our plans and visions at our ISE meeting. It will take some time to develop and realise all the ideas we have and our members have a great chance to be part of that journey in helping shape our future for years to come”
