Kinly has announced that it will offer an XR studio service, distributing the technology on a global scale.
The integration company aims to set a new standard in immersive collaboration, unveiling its XR studio concept at the Science Museum in London last month. The studio is available as a comprehensive, turnkey system, designed to immerse visitors into a virtual world with broadcast quality production events for the corporate and higher education market.
The Kinly XR studio environment offers a 360 degrees virtual world, where hosts can access complete freedom of movement in their surroundings, expanding content beyond the physical LED environment, and allowing cameras to freely explore the virtual environment for a range of perspectives and content use.
Augmented reality layers, such as 3D props, graphs, or data, can be incorporated alongside a presenter ‘on stage’ to emphasise and animate content, with presenter tracking within the XR studio that allows the AR graphics to appear in front or behind a presenter as they walk around the AR graphic.
Remote guests can also join and present virtually, achieved through keying a live stream of the remote guest into the studio, thereby allowing the virtual remote guest to appear ‘teleported’ alongside an in-room presenter.
Studio operation and content creation is managed through a user interface, operable via an iPad.
Simon Watson, global head of innovation, Kinly, commented: “I am excited to launch our new XR studio offering. Not only is it a testament to Kinly’s unwavering commitment to innovation and excellence, this cutting-edge technology also represents a significant step forward in immersive collaboration — providing our clients with unparalleled tools to transform the way they communicate and engage.
“Combining Kinly's mature AV managed service offering with the innovative capabilities of Studio XR is what truly sets this solution apart. By integrating advanced VR, LED, and tracking technologies, we are not only enhancing the user experience but also paving the way for more sustainable and efficient business practices.”
