Futuresource Consulting and Platform Communications have announced that their latest report highlights how enterprises are embracing professional-standard video, creating a growing market for broadcast tech and pro AV vendors.
The report, entitled Lights, Camera, Enterprise! Reveals that 89% of companies are producing video content in-house, fuelling opportunities for vendors of professional cameras, production tools, software and services. One key feature highlighted in the report is the tripling sales of broadcast-grade video cameras to corporate users between 2019 and 2023, while large-sensor camcorder shipments have increased by 487% since 2019.
One of the key causes for this growth is identified as Gen Z entering the workforce and reshaping expectations, with over 60% of professionals aged 22-26 creating video content for online consumption.
Additionally, the report notes that the retail sector will see 42% of enterprises producing their own external marketing videos by 2025, creating both short and long content for web and social media platforms, while other retailers operate their own video production studios.
Alistair Johnston, head of consulting and advisory, Futuresource Consulting, commented: “The convergence of traditional broadcast and enterprise video is happening at a rapid pace. Whether they see their products and services as professional, ‘prosumer’, or pro AV, vendors need to grasp enterprise as a huge opportunity. It’s the growth engine for the next decade of professional video.”
