Allen & Heath AHM-64 ties together whiskey AV experience
McConnell’s Irish Whisky Distillery located in Belfast, UK, is now home to a unique tourist attraction, with an Allen & Heath AHM-64 at its core.

The distillery turned to AV installation and design company, Rea Sound, to design and implement a new tourist attraction, focused on the public tour elements throughout the building, including the café, bar, meeting rooms and the main wing of the gaol.

Guests can also experience a Pepper’s ghost illusion effect, designed and implemented by Rea Sound.

The system is home to Martin Audio speakers and amplifiers, with Ayla interactive touch screens integrated into the meeting rooms and tour elements.

At the heart of the audio experience is an Allen & Heath AHM-64 matrix processor, facilitating the management of audio across multiple zones throughout the building, operating different sounds as needed for the tourist attraction.

Rea Sound also integrated a DX88-P, comprising eight inputs and eight outputs on Euroblock connectors, as well as a DX012 which can be configured to provide a combination of analogue and AES outputs. Both units connect to the AHM via a 128x128 SLink option card.
