Lutron launches light control for hotels

Lutron has launched seeTouch Guestroom Solution, an hotel light control solution that is designed for control of curtains and blinds.

These parameters can be changed to reflect natural light levels when combined with the company’s daylight sensor. It comes in both wired and wireless versions, making it suitable for retrofit as well as new build hospitality projects.

Control of lights and shades can be achieved via Lutron’s Pico wireless controller, seeTouch keypads, the room’s TV remote, or the hotel’s building management system. A discreet dimming panel, allows up to 18 zones of light to be controlled in any public space or guestroom. In addition, the dimming panel’s Ethernet, RS232 and contact closure interfaces allows the zones to be integrated into the building management system.

The seeTouch solution allows users to set light levels 10 per cent below maximum to save 10 per cent in lit energy. Furthermore, overall energy efficiency can be increased by incorporating occupancy and daylight sensors. Occupancy sensing switches off lights within the guest’s room if it is unoccupied for a pre-determined length of time.
