Lightware has debuted its 1RU Taurus UCX universal USB-C and HDMI matrix switcher transmitters, featuring two 100W USB-C charging capabilities and BYOM support with extension up to 100 metres.
Lightware’s Rack Taurus is designed for rack-based environments, offering a centralised AV installation that aims to simplify deployment, servicing, and everyday operation in bigger shared spaces such as auditoriums.
Rack Taurus is available in two models: UCX-4x3-TPX-TX30-R for 10G SDVoE based direct-link extension, as well as UCX-4x3-TPN-TX30 for one-to-many distribution over 10G SDVoE based AVoIP networks.
Both models support USB-C and HDMI+USB-B connectivity for 4K/5K video, audio and USB data transmission, as well as LARA automation features to support advanced room control and automation workflows.
Rear-facing connectivity is provided alongside a built-in universal power supply to allow one-side cabling in AV racks, lecterns and credenzas. An internal power supply helps to reduce external components, while front-to-back active cooling via fan control optimises airflow and minimises noise.
The front panel prioritises visibility and control, with cables protected and organised at the rear.
For lectern installations, Rack Taurus supports two 100W USB-C power delivery options for connected laptops, while simultaneously providing 30W PoE+ power for connected devices via ETH3 port.
The TPX model delivers 10G SDVoE based direct-link extension without a network switch, while the TPM model delivers one-to-many SDVoE based AVoIP distribution over a 10G Ethernet network.
