AJA releases Mini-Config software update

AJA has announced the release of its Mini-Config v2.26.4 software update, designed to streamline conversion workflows and improve flexibility.

The free software update is designed for AJA’s line of mini-converters, covering a range of 4K, HD, and SD conversion needs. The update brings new enhancements to AJA’s HA5-12G, HA5-4K, HA5-Plus, HA5-Fiber, Hi5-12G, Hi5-4K-Plus, 4K2HD, 12G-AM and 12G-AMA mini-converters.

HA5-12G and HA5-4K

Input signal pre-processing controls are added through the update, enabling professionals to accept sources with high jitter. All HA5-12G models now support 12-bit SDI output, as well as Genlock controls for ‘HDMI in’ and ‘free frun’ selections. SDI outputs can now be automatically muted if no valid signal is detected on the HDMI cable, or if it is removed from the device.

HA5-Plus and HA5-Fiber

A frame rate converter has been added to the HA5-Plus and HA5-Fibre mini-converters that use a frame drop/frame repeat methodology to convert integer input video frame rates to non-integer, or non-integer to integer. New EDID Emulation allows users to specify a video format for the EDID, sending information to the source video device. This feature can indicate whether YCbCr formats are supported, as well as the number of supported audio channels (two or eight).

Hi5-12G and Hi5-4K Plus

12-bit support is added to the Hi5-12G and Hi5-4K Plus mini converters.

12G-AM and 12G-AMA

A 1.5G-SDI integral signal generator is added, enabling 12G-AM and 12G-AMA mini converters to allow the embedder path to function without connecting a source to the SDI input. HDR and Colorimetry metadate are also displayed for these models in Mini-Config software.
