TiMax updates SoundHub with Scaling Surfaces feature

TiMax has announced that it has updated its SoundHub audio show control system with a new feature set that allows uses to rescale spatial show files from studio playback environments to auditoriums.

Called Scaling Surfaces, the new feature set is designed to allow users to rescale entire shows for a new venue by changing the scaling surface size, shape, and height at any time. When an object is attached to a scaling surface, all spatial positioning and movement automation for the object, across the entire show file, moves with it when the surface is moved.

Users can distribute content without knowing the absolute scale of the playback environment or system, adding increased flexibility.

More than one scaling surface can be used in a file, covering a ‘stage’ and ‘auditorium’ area, where two scaling surfaces need to be resized separately.

The feature includes eight-drag handles and direct manipulation controls, allowing users to resize, reshape, and reposition spatial surfaces as they would an image in a photo editor.

Scaling Surfaces requires TiMax SoundHub version 6.10 or later and will be showcased at TiMax Spatial Studios in Tileyard, London.
