Pakedge Device & Software has launched the RK-1 router to handle multimedia applications.
The enterprise grade router has five LAN ports, two WAN ports, a console port and two USB ports. Its dual core processor provides increased CPU speeds.
“The LAN/WAN speeds on our new router is averaging just above 900 Mbps, making it more than equipped to meet data demand,” commented Benson Chan, vice president of business development at Pakedge.
The RK-1 can manage simultaneous streams of high bandwidth, low latency multimedia traffic including 4K and HD video, uncompressed audio, running Voice over IP (VoIP) telephones services and streaming video camera feeds.
It is Connect+ certified and allows users to segment voice, video, and data traffic onto distinct sub-networks allowing different traffic types to be processed and eliminate system conflicts.
It also incorporates a variety of multimedia traffic management features including Pakedge TruStream technology to separate and prioritise the processing of latency-sensitive traffic from other traffic. IGMP snooping additionally facilitates the operation of multicast media streaming devices within the network.
The RK-1 is eligible for Pakedge’s Custom Engineering program, which can configure firmware to user needs.
