Apple’s new VR headset, believed to be called ‘Reality’, could recreate digital users for one-on-one Facetime conversations, according to Bloomberg.
The futuristic headset could incorporate advanced hand tracking and the ability to view and control Mac displays through the headset without any external controllers.
It is reported that the full digital renderings of users and hand tracking will be enabled by several external cameras that can track human hands, with sensors built-in to the headset that can read the user’s eyes.
Spatial audio elements could also be enabled using AirPods, opening the door for immersive, virtual reality experience without avatars or external controllers.
