Lightware launches USB20 1Gbe configurator

Lightware has released its USB20 1Gbe configurator, a Windows-based software tool that speeds up USB pairings in a range of systems, available as a free-to-download tool.

The configurator is designed for systems including the UCX series, as well as HDMI-TPN, HDMI-OPTN and UBEX-PRO20 devices, automatically discovering devices and managing connections consistently, monitoring and integrating with control systems.

Designed for Lightware devices with USB 2.0 over Ethernet capacity, the software offers a user interface which enables technicians to assign device roles (LEX, REX or BiDi), configure settings, and choose from USB operating modes (virtual hub, MSA, or single port).

Auto-discovery of Icron-enabled Lightware devices and peripherals simplifies the process by reducing the need for manual pairing and complex cabling for error-free setups.

Graphical topology view is also available, providing a visual map of how USB devices and hubs are connected, designed to simplify device pairing and connectivity issues.

The tool can assist with preventing IP conflicts and device misconfigurations via DHCP and IP validation for conflict-free networks. For large rollouts, the export/import of full configurations via editable JSON files for standardised deployment at scale.

Third-party integration is fully supported via a built-in REST API, providing direct access to crosspoint control and device status monitoring.
