Fohhn Audio has expanded its Perform series with the release of the PT-70 horn-loaded, passive, 2-way loudspeaker.
It is suitable for smaller open-air events, as well as those in halls and tents. It also functions as an extension for larger line arrays or beam steering systems.
Fohhn has used its Convertible Dispersion Technology (CDT) technology in the product, which allows the loudspeaker to be manually switched between vented and cardioid operational modes.
The PT-70 has 2 x 12-in chassis with compression chamber and horn, plus a 1.4-in compression driver on CD horn. It also has a passive crossover including a voltage-controlled circuit that protects the high frequency driver against overload. An integrated mid-range waveform system is designed to suppress unwanted side lobes in the vertical acoustic axis. The loudspeaker is available with two different beam dispersion angles (90° x 50° or 60° x 50°) and offers a maximum sound pressure level of 140 dB, a frequency range of 52 Hz – 20 kHz and a load capacity of 900 W (nominal) / 3600 W (peak).
It weighs 39 kg and measures 400 x 850 x 450 mm. It has a mounting bracket system that allows it to be flown or used with a stand-alone tripod. The speaker housing is built from steel brace reinforced multiplex birch plywood and coated with a scratch-resistant, polyurethane black finish (with other RAL colours also available on request).
