Extron has launched its EDID 121, an EDID emulator for 8K, 5K, and 21:9 ultra-widescreen displays.
The EDID 121 features Extron’s EDID Minder Plus technology to provide improved 512-byte EDID emulation to support additional memory blocks which are needed to convey advanced display capabilities via EDID and DisplayID structures.
Users can select from several pre-stored EDID profiles or capture and save EDID from a connected display.
The emulator is HDCP 2.3 compliant and supports resolutions up to 8K/60 at data rates up to 40.1 Gbps, providing automatic HDMI input cable equalisation, automatic colour bit depth management, and user-selectable HDCP authorisation. The EDID 121 also ships with an Extron Everlast power supply, housed in a compact quarter-rack width metal enclosure.
