Touchscreen specialist Elo has announced an Android powered engine that can bring a number of its touchscreens into a scalable, single-architecture media platform.
Elo Backpack is compatible with most Elo touchscreen digital signage, desktop monitors and kiosk open-frame products. It offers simplified content-delivery and remote-management capabilities via the EloView portal and is suited to kiosk designers, digital signage providers and POS system providers across a range of commercial and public environments.
The low-power, solid-state, fanless system runs Android 7.1 (Nougat) and is designed to simplify creation of customised kiosks.
It supports peripherals for scanning, payment, printing and biometric input via two USB 2.0 ports. Additional connectivity is available for an Elo touchscreen monitor plus Ethernet, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, HDMI output, micro-SD, and GPIO. A Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor supports full HD+, fast connectivity with integrated X9 LTE, and powerful 2.0GHz performance with Octa-core ARM Cortex A53 64-Bit CPU.
Backpack is compatible with select Elo 90 Series open-frames (SAW & PCAP), large-format, open frames (32-in +), IDS 02-Series and 7001LT displays and 02-series desktop monitors.
