Universal Pixels powers Oasis comeback with Absen, Brompton and Disguise
When Oasis kicked off their long-awaited reunion tour in Cardiff back in July, Inavate reported that Absen’s Venus 4.8mm LED was taking centre stage. Now, with more details released, we can see the full scale of the video technology underpinning one of the biggest live tours of the decade.

Production manager Tony Gittins tasked Universal Pixels (UP) with colouring Paul Normandale’s show design in the shape of a complete video package, commissioned a year in advance.

UP has supplied a huge upstage wall of Absen Venus 4.8mm LED and angled IMAG screens for every date on Oasis Live ’25. At the Heaton Park shows in Manchester, the wall measured an immense 1,100 sq m.

Brompton Technology provided processing power with 16 Tessera SX40 LED processors and 34 Tessera XD distribution units, ensuring full redundancy, precise colour and image accuracy. Playback comes from four Disguise GX 3 media servers, synchronised through Disguise Designer software to output generative Notch graphics and IMAG content. Using Disguise’s Designer software, show programmer Anthony Condon can precisely output and synchronise visuals across the screens.

Video was directed by Jon Shrimpton, with content ranging from striking black and white portraits through to landscapes and cityscapes. Creative flexibility remains open; at the Cardiff shows the visuals during Live Forever were adapted to include a tribute to Liverpool striker Diogo Jota, the day after his death in a car crash.

Gareth Manicom, head of technical at Universal Pixels, said: “Collaborating with Absen, Brompton Technology and Disguise means a smooth set-up, unwavering reliability and out of this world visuals, crucial elements in a tour that fans have been hoping for since 2009.”

Oasis Live ’25 continues across 13 countries before wrapping in São Paulo, Brazil, on November 23.
