Samsung targets UK education market
Samsung is targeting the UK education market, signing Sahara Presentation Systems to handle its projectors in the UK.

Sahara manufactures and distributes audio visual products for the education, commercial and institutional markets.

Dominic Webb, general manager for the Digital Display division at Samsung Electronics, said the appointment would broaden Samung’s reach into the UK reseller channel, adding that there would be a strong emphasis on the education market. He also revealed Samsung would be launching a number of new projector models this year.

Kevin Batley, managing director of Sahara Presentation Systems, said: “The agreement enables us to partner with Samsung to drive sales in education and business and build a substantial presence in the UK projector market. Samsung’s projector range provides our resellers with key products for the education market and is an excellent fit with our existing projector vendors, Hitachi and Sanyo.”

The distribution agreement commenced officially on April 1, 2010 and Sahara expects to have stock in mid-April.
