Zoom has unveiled its 3.0 version of AI Companion at Zoomtopia 2025, including new features and work surfaces across Zoom Workplace and Zoom Business Services.
Announced at Zoom’s annual conference, Zoomtopia 2025, Zoom’s agentic AI is designed to bring personalised AI assistance across multiple surfaces.
AI Companion works across the Zoom platform and compatible third-party integrations, aiming to save time by tackling administrative tasks by using agentic AI to retrieve and synthesise internal enterprise knowledge, such as from meeting and phone call transcripts, chat history and shared documents with external insights via context-aware search.
New AI note-taking capabilities are included, allowing users with paid Zoom Workplace accounts to optimise manual notes with AI Companion in all Zoom meetings, as well as in-person meetings and meetings that take place outside of the Zoom ecosystem, such as on Microsoft Teams, Google Meet. Compatibility with WebEx will also be launched in the future.
AI Companion 3.0 introduces a work surface in web browsers and the Zoom Workplace desktop app to deliver a coherent AI experience of where users are working, with a work surface that adapts and offers a breadth of context, turning scattered information into actionable intelligence.
New writing assistance and deep research skills are included, allowing users to generate data-driven reports and polished documents using internal and external data sources.
