Pont Neuf in Paris to be transformed into the world's largest artwork

Pont Neuf in Paris to be transformed into the world
In June this year French artist JR will transform the Pont Neuf in Paris into a 120-metre-long, 18-metre-high immersive art installation.

The artist, known as JR, has said there are two ways to experience the installation; From the outside, those heading to Pont Neuf will see the installation hundreds of metres away. From the inside, once visitors enter the “cave” on Pont Neuf, they will be able to walk through a long tunnel-like structure. The cave will allow no daylight in and once inside.

“We’re about to leave something pretty incredible in the middle of Paris”, JR told the Associated Press during an interview. The exact content tobe shown from 6-28 June, is being kept under wraps for now.

Music for the experience is provided by Thomas Bangalter, one half of Daft Punk.

Snap’s AR studio in Paris is developing the augmented reality technology. Visitors will be able to use their smartphones to see things that you can’t see with your eyes, the artist has confirmed.
