Cologne’s Da Lupo restaurant now enhances Mediterranean flavours through a new audio system, offering comprehensive audio across three spaces.
The Da Lupo restaurant opted for an Optimal Audio ecosystem, delivered by Starpoint, enhancing the restaurant's various spaces.
Spread across two floors, Da Lupo features a large dining room divided into two areas with a separate bar, as well as a function room with dancefloor occupying the lower floor.
Music plays an integral part of the dining experience at Da Lupo, requiring an audio system that is customisable for each of the three distinct areas of the restaurant, as well as a simple and intuitive setup which allows operations to follow the fluidity of the restaurant processes that untrained staff can control with volume levels in the different areas.
The third requirement for the system highlighted a need for high quality sound both upstairs in the main restaurant and downstairs in the function room space, with a need for significantly higher volume levels to cater to events.
Starpoint specified and provided an Optimal Audio system comprising four Cuboid 5 and Cuboid 6 loudspeakers in the restaurant area, powered by two 350 W amp 100 amplifiers.
In the restaurant’s basement event space, four full range Cuboid eight loudspeakers are supported by a single, passive Sub 25, creating a club-like atmosphere with two Amp 300 amplifiers to drive the system.
The venue staff control the Zone eight via the ZonePad four wall controller so that volume levels can be managed in every zone of the restaurant, including the event hall in the basement.
The Zone eight and ZonePad four combination has been used without issues, offering different volumes in various areas.
