Matrox Video marks 50 years as it prepares next product launch
Matrox Video has marked its 50th anniversary, celebrating five decades of video technology development from its headquarters in Montreal, Canada.

Founded in 1976, the company has evolved alongside major shifts in the video industry, developing technologies for capture, processing, streaming, management and distribution. Its work has spanned areas including multi-display computing, hardware-accelerated graphics, IP-based media infrastructure, AV-over-IP and cloud-native video workflows.

Lorne Trottier, CEO and co-founder of Matrox Video, said: “Technology changes constantly, but our focus remains the same: building reliable, forward-looking solutions that help our customers succeed.”

The anniversary comes as Matrox Video prepares to introduce a new product in the first week of June. According to the company, the launch will focus on delivering high-quality, low-latency video while reducing network bandwidth requirements.

The new technology will be presented at InfoComm 2026, where attendees will be able to learn more about the launch.

Trottier added: “The video industry is entering another transformative era, and Matrox Video is committed to helping customers navigate it with technologies built for the next generation of workflows.”
