Matrox Video has launched the Maevex MGX Series, a new range of IPMX-ready encoders and decoders designed to deliver 4K60 AV-over-IP with reduced bandwidth requirements.
The series is aimed at enterprise AV, control rooms, medical environments and collaboration spaces where image quality, low latency and network efficiency are critical. Matrox said the MGX Series can deliver 4K60 4:4:4 HEVC AV-over-IP at one frame of latency while using one twentieth of the bitrate required by many existing ProAV codecs.
The platform supports both IPMX and Matrox IQ Mode, which can be used independently or simultaneously depending on workflow requirements. When used between compatible Matrox devices, IQ Mode enables latency as low as one frame.
The Maevex MGX Series includes single- and dual-channel models, with the MGX E1 and E2 encoders and MGX D1 and D2 decoders providing deployment flexibility. A single input can be streamed simultaneously to multiple outputs and formats, including IPMX, RTSP, MPEG-TS and SRT.
Multiview and compositing capabilities are available on the MGX E2, D1 and D2, allowing users to combine and manage multiple sources on both the encoding and decoding sides.
The range supports H.265 4:4:4 for high-fidelity 4K60 video, as well as H.265 4:2:0 and H.264 4:2:0 for broader workflow and network requirements.
Integrated USB support extends the system beyond video distribution, enabling keyboard, mouse and webcam connectivity for remote workstation access, desktop capture and interactive collaboration workflows.
