Martin Audio powers sound at Osaka-Kansai Expo Arena Matsuri
A Martin Audio system has been installed at Expo Arena Matsuri, the largest outdoor venue at World Expo 2025 in Osaka-Kansai, Japan.

The venue, which can accommodate around 16,000 people, hosts daily live performances as part of the six-month international exposition.

The main PA comprises Martin Audio’s Wavefront Precision WPL line arrays, supported by SXH218 subwoofers. Additional coverage is provided by WPS loudspeakers handling infill and lipfill duties, with WPS also deployed as side fills paired with SXCF118 cardioid subs. On stage, XE300 monitors deliver monitoring for performers.

Martin Audio’s optimisation software was used to shape coverage and manage noise control, preventing sound leakage beyond the venue. The system was designed and installed by System Engineering Co., who have a long history of working with Martin Audio.

System Engineering Co. explained that the choice of system was influenced by the need to balance sound quality, performance and cost efficiency. The acoustic simulation provided by Martin Audio supported a rapid approval process with the Expo organisers, while the ability to finely adjust directivity was seen as a significant advantage, ensuring sound could be tightly controlled within the arena.

The installation was reported to have run smoothly, with no major issues during deployment. System Engineering Co. will continue to support the system until the close of World Expo 2025 in October.
