Car manufacturers, exhibiting at the Paris motor show, are pulling in punters with extensive use of LED displays. Barco, Hibino and Mitsubishi products are used throughout the 2008 Paris Mondial de L’Automobile, October 4 to 19, 2008. Held in Porte de Versailles, the event pulled in a staggering three million visitors last year and shows no sign of slowing up in 2008.
Many manufacturers adopted an innovative approach with their displays and fully utilised the flexibility LED products provide. The Alfa Romeo booth used a huge overlay, cut in the shape of a car, to sit over a large screen made of Barco ILite 6 XP. Peugeot also used an overlay to simply display its logo, using LED to provide the blue brand colour.
Slanting tiles of LED were used to great effect, above visitors’ heads on the Renault booth, while BMW chose a simple, symmetrical column arrangement to draw visitors into a large screen, at the rear of its stand, that acted as a platform for its new car.
Barco products were used extensively with Seat splashing out on an NX-4 screen from rental company, Avega. The Chrysler Group, Honda, Lexus and Toyota also opted for the NX family, displaying their marketing messages with large screens of NX-6.
Korean giant Kia opted for a Mitsubishi product, With a large screen featured on the company's stand.
Hibino products were also used throughout the exhibition, attracting visitors for manufacturers including Mercedes, Land Rover, Volvo, Opel and Hyundai.
