Clear-Com intercom technology has been deployed for Musikal Perahu Kertas, a large-scale musical theatre production in Indonesia based on the novel by Dee Lestari.
Presented by Trinity Entertainment Network in collaboration with Indonesia Kaya and the Trinity Youth Symphony Orchestra, the production combined live orchestration, frequent scene changes and activity across multiple backstage and performance areas.
The communications system was supplied by Indonesian rental partner 86inc, which designed, configured and operated the intercom infrastructure for the show. Clear-Com’s Eclipse HX matrix was selected to support the scale of the production, with 10 dedicated channels allowing departments to communicate without cross talk.
The system included an Eclipse HX MVX-A16 card for routing multiple outputs to the audio console, an E-IPA card with IP transceivers, more than 15 FreeSpeak II wireless beltpacks and a V-Series panel at front-of-house for show control.

Teams across front-of-house, backstage, dressing rooms and the orchestra pit were connected through the centralised matrix, supporting two-way communication throughout the venue.
Caron Shaine, production manager of Musikal Perahu Kertas, said: “Clear and reliable communication is key to the success of the show.”
According to 86inc, the system provided stable, low-latency audio and reliable coverage, including in challenging backstage areas. Dedicated channels helped crews manage cues and transitions during scenes involving heavy equipment, live music and coordinated lighting.
Oscar Yulius Joseph, technical and operational manager at 86inc, said the system helped crews coordinate safely and ensure cues between actors, lighting and music happened at the right time.
