L-Acoustics revamps historic conference centre
An L-Acoustics sound system has overhauled the Hamburg Congress Centre (CCH), one of Europe’s most historic convention facilities, through a five-year renovation.

L-Acoustics’ L series line source arrays played a crucial role in this protected historic landmark, with consultants Graner + Partner and systems integrator Protones & Co. tasked with the challenge of overhauling this historic venue.

Sustainability sat at the heart of this project, with the CCH’s commitment to sustainability playing a key role in determining the use of L-Acoustics products, matching the venue’s pro-environment goals.

The main hall features a left/centre/right configuration, with one L2 and one L2D speaker forming the left and right arrays, complemented by a centre cluster of one A10i Focus over two A10i wide speakers.

Four KS21 subwoofers are mounted per side, in a cardioid configuration, ground-stacked on either side of the stage, while two X8 are mounted either side of the stage for out-fill and eight 5XT placed across the stage lip for in-fill.

Two additional hangs comprised of one A10i Focus over one A10i Wide provides additional stage monitoring. The whole system is powered by L-Acoustics LA7.16i amplified controllers.

Thie L-Acoustics system integrates into the wider network at the CCH, which includes Q-Sys Core processors in various halls, utilising the Dante audio-over-IP protocol.
