ISE and Llum BCN to host Alice Labourel and light art festival
ISE and Llum BCN have announced a continued partnership to bring a light art festival to Barcelona during the show, featuring the work of French artist Alice Labourel.

The partnership will be showcased at ISE 2025, where attendees can get an exclusive preview of the light installations of Llum BCN 25.

The light show will take place from 7-9 February 2025, where Llum BCN will turn Barcelona’s Poblenou neighbourhood into a canvas of art and technology. The annual festival is organised by Barcelona City Council and will feature light installations from 15 professional artists and creators, as well as 17 universities.

The range of installations will include contemporary art, design and architecture, technology, and lighting design which will turn the streets, squares, buildings, and parks into works of art.

This year’s Llum BCN 25 will include the opportunity to see artistic projects from photographer and conceptual artist Joan Fontcuberta, film director and scriptwriter Isaki Lacuesta, as well as set designer, light artist and creator Laura Clos.

Artist Alice Labourel will showcase her “A Tiny Bead of Pure Life” piece on 6 February at 18:30 on the south access welcome screen at the Fira de Barcelona Gran Via, blending drawings, 3D models, mythology, and nature.

“A Tiny Bead of Pure Life” is a 15-minute animated journey which explores surreal, abstract landscapes inspired by nature, inspired by Virginia Woolf’s novella The Death of the Moth.

Mike Blackman, managing director, ISE, commented: “The collaboration between Llum BCN and Integrated Systems Europe represents a thrilling union of creativity and technology, showcasing how art and innovation can seamlessly intersect. Llum BCN, Barcelona's renowned Light Arts Festival, transforms the urban landscape into a mesmerising spectacle of artistic ingenuity. Meanwhile, as the world's premier AV and systems integration tech show, ISE gathers trailblazing technology and industry visionaries all under one roof. Together, we are building a bridge that connects the art and AV communities, pushing the boundaries of possibility and creating unforgettable shared experiences.

“I am especially excited to welcome Alice Labourel and her extraordinary artwork to ISE 2025. This partnership epitomises the synergy between art and technology, offering a stage for visionary creators to inspire and captivate, while deepening the bond between ISE and Barcelona’s vibrant cultural scene.”
