Immersive Display Solutions Inc (IDSI) has taken a controlling interest in UK simulation and visualisation company Simulation Displays Ltd (SD) in a bid to bolster its presence in Europe.
George Forbes, president and CEO of IDSI, said: “The two companies have progressively been working closer together, and there are many synergies to be had from the merger.
“IDSI has continued to see strong sales growth in Europe as well as significant key international opportunities that can now best be managed by having an even stronger presence in the European region.
“In a short period of time SD has established a strong core team, which makes them well placed to represent the interests of both IDSI and our combined customers. Those that will benefit most from the merger will be the customers themselves. Customer service and satisfaction are at the very core of both teams’ values.â€
He continued: “The combination of IDSI’s long track record in design and installation of deployable and high value simulator display solutions, together with Simulation Displays’ track record in high specification fixed and motion base simulator display solutions, creates an immediate win for the combined operations on both sides of the Atlantic.â€
Greg Jeffreys, Simulation Displays’ founding CEO, added: “George’s participation on the SD board has been a key factor in getting us to where we are today. Both IDSI and SD share the same mission, utilizing similar commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) components from best of breed providers. Consequently, we are delighted by this move. “Key processes and personnel will be rapidly absorbed into one another’s solutions, expanding the core competencies and capabilities of our integrated team.â€
