A Genelec loudspeaker system brings a complete audio system to one of gaming’s largest publishers at Ubisoft’s new Stockholm office.
The audio system was specified for the company’s game development and leisure spaces, calling on systems integrator and consultant This Is Who I Am, and systems integrator Logic IT to assist with acoustics and the technical installation.
The office space is home to a range of specialised rooms and facilities, including a Dolby Atmos powered multipurpose room that is used for demos, presentations, screenings, and other events. Genelec loudspeaker systems are installed throughout, playing a part in an Atmos recording studio, a second 5.1 studio, a video editing suite, as well as a central atrium that serves as a reception and social area for company-wide gatherings and events.
Logic IT carried out the installation in the main atrium reception area, as well as the kitchen, specifying Genelec’s 4000 series installation loudspeakers.
The audio system is formed of two 4020s, as well as six 4030s that are distributed throughout the space as a BGM system, capable of higher SPLs when required.
The two recording studios were heavily treated during the construction phases, requiring Genelec’s GLM calibration software to address low frequency challenges for this sensitive environment.
The main 7.1.4 Atmos studio is equipped with Genelec smart active loudspeakers, featuring three 8331 three-way coaxial models set into the front wall as LCRs, supported by four 8330 two-way models for surrounds, and an additional four for overheads, as well as a7360 smart active subwoofer.
For the second 5.1 recording/listening space, five 8330s are installed as surrounds, with a 7350 subwoofer handling low frequencies.
For the 9.2.4 Atmos multipurpose room, This Is Who I Am supplied three 8350 models behind the room’s screen as LCRs, supported by ten 8340 models throughout the room as surrounds and overheads. A pair of 7370 subwoofers complete the setup, integrating with Genelec’s GLM software which This Is Who I Am used to create an immersive listening environment. The room is also connected to the sound studios via a Focusrite RedNet Dante system.
