Genelec brings the magic to Hunderfossen Fairytale Park
Norway’s Fairytale Park, Hunderfossen, unveiled its classical music powered adventure, powered by Genelec Smart IP loudspeakers.

The new adventure, Musikkfabrikken (The Music Factory), is an interactive exploration of classical music that blends visual art, animated characters and sound, housed in an unused 4D cinema.

The attraction was developed by Sigurd Slåttebrekk, a Norwegian classical pianist and professor of piano, working with the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra to make classical music more accessible for adults and children.

Systems integrator, Bravo, was tasked with developing a sound system that could deliver a comfortable and exciting musical experience for visitors of all ages, working with Norwegian AV consultant, Benum, to demo a range of loudspeaker systems.

Working with Slåttebrekk, a Genelec Smart IP system was selected for its sound qualities, as well as control functionality and integration with Q-SYS for smooth operation of the interactive attraction. Genelec’s Smart IP Manager software was used to configure the Smart IP models before integrating with the wider Q-SYS ecosystem.

Slåttebrekk commented: “As Q-SYS formed the backbone of the whole project, integrating Smart IP loudspeakers was straightforward. It gave us precise control and real-time status monitoring of each loudspeaker.”

The experience features an interactive room, complete with touch walls and projected displays, where eight Genelec 4420s were installed in the floor and eight 4430s were installed in the ceiling, complemented by four 7360 subwoofers to improve audio definition.
