Extron serves local community at Chapel Hill Public Library
Extron technologies play a central role at the Chapel Hill Public Library in North Carolina, USA, undergoing an upgrade to its AV systems.

The AV overhaul at Chapel Hill Public Library included a range of improvements such as larger displays with improved image quality, overflow capabilities and simplified control for users with a wide variety of experience levels.

Integrator Kontek designed and integrated Extron switching, audio, streaming, and control systems to support each meeting space and a NAV Pro AVoIP system to link the four rooms.

The Extron NAV system creates flexible integration between the library’s meeting rooms, with multiple NAV encoders and decoders used to create an IP-based video and audio switching matrix. All four rooms use a similar AV system design that is scaled to the space.

The design includes an Extron IP Link Pro control processor and TouchLink Pro touchpanel with a custom GUI. The control interface pages are available in five languages, with additional languages planned to be added in the future.

Library patrons can make full use of the hybrid AV systems capabilities with limited or no assistance from the library staff.
