AV Stumpfl’s Pixera brings precise projection to Indian Republic Day
To celebrate Indian Republic Day, Modern Stage Services turned to Pixera media servers and software to deliver a unique 3D projection mapping experience, synced with a drone show.

Used for the Beating Retreat military ceremony, this event marked the first time that a show of this scale had been projected on to the façade of New Delhi’s secretariat buildings.

The ceremony included 3,500 drones, synced with the projection mapping. Military bands trooped past accompanied by performances of Indian classical music by the bands of the armed forces and state police.

Stability and reliability were essential for the 14-minute show, with Modern Stage Services turning to AV Stumpfl’s Pixera media server platform.

Fourteen Pixera systems, including one Pixera Director licence, were used to support the projection system which incorporated 61 Christie 20k-lumen laser projectors, as well as an additional eight 40W RGB laser projectors, and lighting comprising 96 moving heads and 180 LED PAR lights.
